Truck rental moving services are offered to homeowners that need a moving truck to move their things from one location to another. Renting a moving truck means that you are in charge of and execute the entire moving process on your own.

Making a plan and a budget before moving day is essential. You need to then estimate the size of the moving truck or trailer that you will require. Remember that the space must be big enough so that your things do not knock against each other and cause damage. At the same time you don’t want too much space that will cause your items to shift around a lot during the drive.

Truck rentals can be done for either a one way or a two way trip. Most rental companies give you a flat rate for a certain distance and then charge additionally for the extra miles. It is always a good thing to check if the truck rental company has an office at your new location to take receipt of the truck once you have moved. It is always a good idea to go through the fine print in terms of insurance and liability for the truck or trailer.

Renting a moving truck means all the burdens of relocating are on you. From the packing to the loading to the moving to the unloading – you have to deal with ALL of this. Yes, hiring a moving truck and doing all of this on your own is cheaper but there is something to be said for the cost benefit analysis of hiring a professional mover.
