How to Declutter your Belongings before Moving
Moving…another way of saying that we need to pack our lives into boxes and shift them from one place to another. And the worst part of this is that we can’t really take everything with us. Moving is when we have to decide what goes and what stays. Hmmm, this is easier said than done.
It’s never advisable to try and downsize the entire house in one go. Start with one room at a time. Always start with the rooms that have the most amount of clutter, this way you get the tough work done and out of the way soon. Then, go on to the other rooms. Remember, we tend to use our garages as storage so you need to go through the garage too.
You can also create different piles for your things. This method allows you to also see what is damaged or unused as well as what you don’t want and what will go with you. These clear piles will allow you to have a better idea of what you have in your home.
There is of course another method which will cost you more money but will cost you less time personally. And that is to hire a packer. You can instruct your packer on what goes and what stays and the rest will be done for you. But, this option would depend on your budget and your schedule.
